Cloud Security Maintenance May Cause Downtime to a Subset of Customers

Incident is resolved

We know uptime on the websites you entrust with WP Engine is important. With that in mind, we wanted to notify you of an upcoming emergency maintenance being performed by one of our infrastructure providers that may impact the uptime of a subset of customers hosted on WP Engine. The maintenance is required to apply a security patch, and requires a reboot which may result in downtime of up to 30 minutes. Due to the nature of the security patch, we are under embargo until 12/17 and unable to provide specifics of the vulnerability at this time. You can read more about this from Fortune by clicking here.

This downtime will occur for a subset of sites that we host while this provider patches their systems. We expect these patches to occur on Sunday, December 13th and last through Wednesday, December 16th. If your site(s) will be impacted, the WP Engine Account Owner has already been notified via email.

Outside of the up to 30 minutes of downtime, there should be no additional impact to your site. We will be monitoring closely to make sure.

For more information, please visit the WP Engine Status blog where you can sign up for email notifications with the latest updates.

We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to ensure the continued safety of your site.
